MTBA Junior Dev Camp: Adelaide

MTBA-AMBC-BMCR-junior-dev-logo

MTBA will be hosting a Junior Development Camp in Adelaide on the 24-26 April 2015. The course is to be held at Fox Creek trails, staying over night at the Thomas Hill house. The cost includes accommodation for Fri and Sat night and meals for the duration as well.

The camp is aimed at under 15 and under 17 riders to help them develop the skills and knowledge that will assist them in MTBing and racing – however the session is for all levels of MTBers.

More information and links to registration are available on the MTBA website.

This course is also the first opportunity for those who attended the NCAS Lvl 1 course to complete their qualifications. For more information regarding this, email sport@mtba.asn.au

AMBC is proud to announce that it will support any current Adelaide Mountain Bike Club junior rider attending this course with a contribution of $100 towards course costs. This subsidy is a direct result of BioMechnics Cycles and Repair cash sponsorship to the club. Please contact treasurer@ambc.asn.au for information regarding reimbursement.

Results for Summer Series Ronud 3

Preliminary results are up!

Huge apologies to Will Golding who received a dud transponder and I failed to notice it. Unfortunately, no lap times for him. He took it like a gentleman and seemed pretty happy to simply be out on the bike!

If you notice any other discrepancies, shoot an email through to timing@ambc.asn.au and we’ll sort it out. Dispute window is until Wednesday 6pm.

Next race is on 29th March 2015. Entries are open, click on the link at the bottom of the post to go to registration. This race is at Eagle MTB Park. Should be doable on a CX bike* (shouldering and running/walking your bike is part of having a CX bike………….#init?)

*Eagle MTB Park is much more fun on a proper MTB. CX bike not actually recommended unless you love a real challenge or want to stick it to your mates!

Big thanks to Stu Clement for coming out and checking out the timing system. Great student and very attentive – A+ – would hire again! Phase 1 of “Let’s organise a timing team” has commenced!

Plenty of photos going around, check out the photos page for links!

Final chance for Summer series Round 3

REGISTRATION CLOSES AT 10:00AM (THAT’S RIGHT, IN LESS THAN 40 MINUTES)
*click on the above sentence to go to registration*

If you have any dramas registering – shoot an email through to info@ambc.asn.au or timing@ambc.asn.au (Scott K is organising registrations for this round).

Set up from 07:30am (if you’re REALLY keen)

Sign-on opens at 09:00am

Race start is at 10:00am

Location is Park 23 and the race HQ will be around – or on – Catholic Cemetery Rd.

Once again, we are allocating all race plates and transponders (this will become a thing this year – but more info on that later, THERE’S RACING TO BE HAD!)

If you’d like to volunteer, email racevolunteers@ambc.asn.au – we’ll need a couple of track marshals to keep the seagulls away – or maybe just direct some pedestrians, you never know you’re luck these days.

See you out there!

Round 3 of the Summer Series

This weekend is fast approaching and with it our 3rd round of the summer series.

This round takes us to Park 23 just off Sir Donald Bradman Drive. The course will be CX friendly – I hope, as I’ll be mapping it out on my CX bike!

Looking for volunteers to help with:

  • course set-up around 8am on Sun morning
  • course pack-up at around “after the race o’clock”
  • sign on desk help – 1 or 2 people
  • 2 people to help Marshall the course (potentially)

Remember that all volunteers who commit prior to race day get a free, transferable race entry!

Once again we will be rolling with the “issue everything on the day” system for transponders and race plates. If you have a race plate, please bring it along so we can coerce you to give it back to us. We have cookies*

If you have any problems registering, please email timing@ambc.asn.au

Remember we no longer do late entries (after 10am Sat) or on the day registration. We do however, have a very lenient refund policy! So get on over and register!

*we don’t actually have cookies. Well, I might, but they’re mine. So tasty! Probably be gone by Sunday.
