Hammer Nutrition Enduro Round 1 Results are up!

The ex-timer goes for a B-Line! #shameless abuse of the media login credentials! Photo credit: TTK Photos

Massive thanks to all those who helped out, many hands make light work!

On track setup we had David Knight, Scott Denton and “Craig Hutchins and his trail fairies”, who managed rake out the spectator maze, muppet alley, and try hard “or the old school tracks” – made it much more followable at 180bpm!

Course pack up was completed by Tim Klein, James Irving and Scott Denton.

Registration (WHAT A LINE UP!) saw yours truly sneak out of the timing van and give an assist to Tiff How (first time racer), Chelsea Hooton, James Irving and Scott Denton.

Presentations and race brief given by Scott Keneally

On the BBQ we saw Libby Dowling, Beth Holland and Kevin Ackerman.

Lastly, a brave mention to David Braithwaite who managed to time his first (which is why I got to bugger off and make some noise on the track!).

Brilliant weather on a brilliant track! You can tell I got to race, because results are only getting up now!

Tim Klein and Co have uploaded “some” photos to Facebook – click here – to check them out.

Next race is at Prospect Hill on 15th May – register here!

Oh, and results are on the results page – click here!

2016 Winter XC Series

10th April people. Lock it in! Link to AMBC website in our bio for all your information and entering needs ?Sam Bruce #howihammer #adelaidemtbclub #foxcreekmtb @hammernutritionausThe first round of the Winter XC series is fast approaching with Round 1 of the Hammer Nutrition Enduro coming up on Sunday 10th April. Entries close on Saturday at 10am.

We are always looking for people to help out around race HQ, so if you can help with any of the following, send an email to racevolunteers@ambc.asn.au:

  • BBQ cooking – yes, the winter series sees the return of the BBQ!
  • Course pack up – relive the adventure one last time!
  • Registration – control the masses and dish out order!

The basics of the racing format will be the same as previous years with a few key changes all competitors should be aware of.

Elite series? GONE!

The committee has decided that the “Elite Winter Series” is to be discontinued. So you won’t see any “elite” categories this year – Enduros will be “Solo Male” and XCO will be “A Grade”.

Juniors

We will be following our existing guidelines regarding minimum age for juniors – 11 years old. If you (or your child) doesn’t quite meet the requirements, but still want to join in the fun, send an email to juniors@ambc.asn.au and options can be discussed. We aim to be inclusive of everyone, but also want to ensure the enjoyment and safety of all competitors.

Series entry…….is it cheaper??…No.

A solid reminder that “series entry” is available, but there is NO discount for it. The registration system used by the club needs all events to be part of a series in order for entries to process properly. Everyone is welcome to enter the entire series if they tend to be forgetful – if you can’t make a race for some reason, let us know through timing@ambc.asn.au with some notice and a refund can be organised.

Race directoring

Our current Race Director David Knight who has supported the club in this role over the last 2.5 years (previously the juniors coordinator) will be looking to pass on this prestigious position to someone next year. So get ready to hear us harp on about this at every race/presentations/email/etc. over the year as, similar to the timing and registration coordinator positions, they are an essential part of hosting races. For information on the position, email info@ambc.asn.au.

2016 registration – all open!

ALL EVENTS for the rest of 2016 are open for registration. Links are located on the calendar page, the respective events page and we’ll throw them in here for you with dates as well (gee, we’re nice people! Maybe, save this email/page if you want for easy reference…….winks as good as a nudge to a blind bat!):

We’ll be selling tickets for the Giant MTB raffle as well – $5ea and with a maximum of 1,000 tickets up for grabs you’ll be in with a fighting chance to win yourself a Giant Anthem 27.5 1. Massive thanks to Giant Adelaide for their continual support of the club.

The raffle will be drawn at the Pony Express to be held on the 06th Dec at O’Halloran Hill. Because this is an official raffle – rules and stuff – you do not have to be there on the day to claim your prize – although it would be nice so we can a photo of your big smile as you strut up to claim your prize!

We’ll also be going through the AGM formalities, the brunt of which is the election (or re-election) of members to the committee roles. There’s some babble about finances, but it’s only money so I wouldn’t worry about that.

It’s not to late to nominate yourself for a position if you’re interested in any way. Email  info@ambc.asn.au or have a chat with any of us on the day or on the trails.

Following that we will be presenting the Elite Winter Series prizes, followed by the GESA presentations and then the State Champs presentations.

State Champs, AGM, CHC, LivGiant Ride, Raffle

new AMBC logo

State champs are fast approaching. Here’s a map of what the course may or may not look like – i.e. it’s subject to change because who likes to know everything? The course needs some pruning, so if you’re keen to help out shoot a message over to racedirector@ambc.asn.au so that you can arrange logistics and story times.

Fox State Champs XCO 2015 b

Yet another reminder that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held right before presentations – around 2pm. If you’d like to nominate for a position, then send an email to info@ambc.asn.au to let us know. Remember, you can challenge existing committee members, but why would you when we have some great positions available:

  • Timing Coordinator
  • Registration Coordinator
  • Media Coordinator
  • Sponsorship Coordinator
  • Secretary

The timing role stops the person from racing and the committee compensates this by making it a paid position.

Timing and registration coordinator positions are a must have in order for races to go ahead.

What’s CHC? COLD HARD CASH – The series points have been tallied and winners have been decided. The prizes will be awarded after the AGM and right before State Champs prizes. Remember that all championship categories in the State Champs attract CHC – some categories even paying to 5th!

Check out the State Champs page for more info.
