Volunteers still needed

We still urgently require a few more volunteers for this weekends MTBA National Round at Eagle Park. Friday late afternoon/evening and Saturday all day. If you can only spare a few hours Saturday, still send an email through. No experience required, you get an event t-shirt, hat, food, water and a front row seat to the action. If you can spare a few hours please email racevolunteers@ambc.asn.au. More details here.

If you’re looking to be a spectator at the XCE event on Friday night, be mindful that if the CFS issue an EXTREME fire warning, only event officials and competitors will be allowed in the park. For up to date details, check the CFS fire ban page, Bureau of Meteorology and MTBA page.

MTBA Subaru National Round 1

The MTBA Subaru Nationals Round 1 is this weekend. MTBA have extended the cut off for on-line entries until 8am Wednesday 15th January. So if you’re keen to race jump on over to the register now page here.

If you’re not interested in racing, but have time to spare, don’t forget we’re looking for volunteers for course marshalling and timing on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday. More details for volunteers are in this post.

Results – 2014 AMBC Summer Race 1

Here’s the preliminary results from the first race of the summer series. If there’s any issues with them, e-mail timing@ambc.asn.au and I’ll fix them up.

Well done to the winners in each grade. Good work by Michael Denton – jumping into A Grade and finishing 10th.

On another note – Round 1 of the MTBA National round is fast approaching – 17th-19th January – and we are calling for volunteers. Details of what is required are as follows –

Registration
Friday 9am – 12 and 4 – 7pm – 1 Club Volunteer required
 
XCE Friday 4.30 -7.30
5 volunteers are required to run the XCE Timing which is manual ( DK will be one)
During heats we require 2-3 course marshals as well.
 
XCO Saturday
Rego 7.30 – 9.00am – 1 club Volunteer
 
Timing system
3 volunteers required (compulsory)
 
On XCO course Saturday
XCO pedestrian cross overs – 2 vollys
Feed zone – 1 volly
Tech zone – 1 volly
On course marshalls x 3
Top feed, water mister – 1 volly

If you or someone you know are able to volunteer any time to help make this event happen smoother please e-mail racevolunteers@ambc.asn.au. No experience in MTBing is necessary and some job roles may be able to break down into half days as well.

2014 Race Season kicks off this weekend – Volunteers needed

Adelaide MTB Club’s first race for 2014 is on this weekend. Round 1 of the Summer series at Eagle Park is the perfect opportunity for new riders to get a taste of what MTB racing is all about, and for those more experienced racers, a chance to hone their skills on a course that takes in much of the following weekend’s MTBA National Round. The course will be prepared and setup by Friday afternoon and for those wanting a guided lap of the course, a preview ride has been organised for Saturday morning, meeting at 9:15 for 9:30 start, at the Eagle MTB Park main gate off the old freeway. Please register your interest in the ride by emailing info@ambc.asn.au. Full location and entry details can be found on the Summer Series page.

Please note, there will be no on-the-day registration, this event is strictly on line registration only. Registrations close the day prior at 10am.

AMBC is also helping to host round 1 of the Mountain Bike Australia National Series at Eagle on the 17 – 19th of Jan. If your not planning on racing and can spare a few hours to help with registration or course marshaling (no experience required), please email racevolunteers@ambc.asn.au to register your interest.
