Results for Giant XCO Round 2

ARE UP! Check the results page – clickety here (like Mr. Clickety Cane). Elite XC series table updated as well – if you spot an error, let timing@ambc.asn.au know and we can fix it up.

Sunny weather and a functioning timing system made for brilliant race conditions and there were a few great battles out there today.

MASSIVE THANKYOU to Darren Moore for all of his hard work in tidying up and mowing the trails and surrounding area. Also, thanks for continuing to allow us to race on your property as well. Always get a lot of positive feedback from the races we hold there regarding the trail!

The next AMBC race is on the 11th October at Craigburn Farm and entries are open – Register now!

What’s happening between now and the next AMBC race?

In case you haven’t heard, the PACC Cyclocross State Champs have been relocated to Saturday 26th September, which conveniently leaves Sunday 27th free to head back to Mt. Torrens and try your game at a Gravity Enduro Event!

See you on the trails!

Giant XCO Round 2

Giant

Round 2 is just around the corner (or 6, depends where you’re riding from), racing starts this Sunday @ 09:30 for D, E and Junior grades and at 11:30 for Elite, B and C Grades.

Mt. Torrens township is the location for this round – directions can be found here

The weather is looking good (JYNXED!!!) and the trail has been prepped so it should be a kicking race. Remember that this race track is on private property riders are only allowed to ride on it during sanctioned events or with the owners permission.

All signs point to a coffee van showing it’s face, so make sure you bring some coin to offer to the coffee deity/ies (believe what you want!).

If you’d like to volunteer and help out on the day send an email to racevolunteers@ambc.asn.au. On the plus side, it’s likely not going to hail at pack up this round!

Check out the links below for all the information and registration!

If you have any issues registering, email timing@ambc.asn.au and we can discuss the net value of chocolate when compared to how important getting into the race is.

Mt. Torrens, Melrose and MTBing!

AMBC+GiantThe second round of the Giant XCO series is fast approaching – 13th Sep. We spend a day at the Moores property re-establishing the trail that we’ve been delightfully lucky to access for the past few years.

John Allison will be clearing the track from 9am on Monday the 07th Sep. So if you’re eager to get a preview of the course and insider knowledge on every little rock across the top, then send an email to info@ambc.asn.au. Bring some gloves and whatever gardening tools you have lying around – rakes, hoes, etc.

As always, volunteers will be required for on the day duties. If you know how to roll snags around on a warm plate, assist with last minute track set up and getting kudos for that one extra lap while you help pack up the course, then shoot an email to racevolunteers@ambc.asn.au to let us know. Volunteers are rewarded with a free (transferable) race entry to all AMBC events, some food off the BBQ and a drink from the esky.

This weekend marks the inaugurally informal 6/18 Hours of Melrose. Over The Edge have been running this event for the past 4 years and is a unique enduro race that starts at midnight Friday to allow for a Satruday 6pm finish. This leaves participants fresh for a drive home on Sunday and ready for work on Monday!

Joel Tozer is looking for a member to complete a casual 18 hour duo and space available in accommodation at the North Star hotel. So if you’re “umming” and “ahhing” about “racing” then give him a call and get in on the fun – 0421 377 281.

Last minute entries can be found by clicking here

Last minute entries will be available so long as you’re nice to the time keeper!
