Mt. Torrens trail prep

With the final round of the Hammer Nutrition Enduros coming up, we have been given permission to jump in and clean the trails up in preparation.

So, at 9am on Sat 21st June, come up to help smooth the trail for the race. Due to it being private property, this will be the only chance before race day to ride the track as well.

Anyone who is attending will need to have an MTBA license, or already have entered the race with a day license, for insurance reasons.

Prospect Hill trail care day and pre-ride

Race director David Knight will be leading an expedition through Prospect Hill. The first run of the expedition will be trekking off at around 9:00am, looking to hack back the blackberries and outline the race track for the upcoming 4 hour enduro. If you’d like to join in, make sure you bring:

  • Gloves
  • Long sleeve shirt and pants
  • sturdy shoes
  • a rake (if you have one)
  • pruning tool (if you have one)

If you find any gold, you can keep it!

The second run of the expedition will be rolling off at around 11:00am to pre-ride the course. The pre-ride is open to all club members and registered racers (for insurance reasons). Juniors and beginners are welcome.

Random Tandem

Our previously long standing club secretary and author of “It takes two to tandem” – Louise George – is hosting a tandem bike ride on Sunday 18th May, 1:30pm-3:30pm.

Leaving from the Frome Road entrance to Adelaide Zoo the ride will head towards the hills and back, stopping at Imma and Mario’s Mercarto where you can experience delightful Italian authenticity in suburban Adelaide (might need to bring your touring panniers to carry back purchases).

Chat with Louise and her captain Nev about their tandem trip from John O’Groats to Lands End (the length of the UK).
