The second summer race at Eagle MTB Park is coming up this sunday.  If you haven’t entered then get entering and tell your mates to enter too.  Online entries will close on Saturday at 10am – click here to enter  If you’re not sure what category to race in then check out our summer race page for an idea of what to expect.

Racing will start at 9am with sign on opening earlier.  You’ll be able to drive in to the venue so bring your cheer squad with you.  The race lap is short and sweet and similar to what we have used previously. Should be about 10 minutes for A grade*.

* May or may not be 10 minutes. No A graders have pre-ridden the lap to provide this feedback

Sunday’s race has been brought forward to 9am so we can beat the heat. Sign on will open from 8:15am and if you haven’t ridden at sheps recently then we’d love for you to practice techtonic, the down track of the race loop before the start.

No plans to cancel at this stage, if we do, we’ll be making the call late saturday afternoon, so keep an eye on facebook and this website. All entries will be refunded in the event of a cancellation.

Hope you all had a fantastic break and you’re ready for another awesome year of racing, riding and just generally having fun on your bike with your mates.

Speaking of fun, the first summer race is just around the corner, this sunday in fact so get yourself entered and heckle your mates to enter too.  Its been a real long time since we last raced at Shepherds Hill, pretty sure 2003 was the last time we were in there, before that it was quite a regular and popular location.  Anyway that’s enough nostalgia for now back to the present.

Details specific to sheps…read on!

Shepherds Hill Recreation Park is located on Ayliffes Rd, St Marys.  Google maps location https://goo.gl/vthsf9.  There is a few different entry points if you are coming in by bike, but to enter by car, come to the park off of Ayliff’s Rd. We’ll have the gate will be open on the day and parking will be near the race start.

The race will be short and sweet with a category to suit all abilities.  Visit the summer race page to help you decide.  Make sure you turn up a little earlier to this one as you will be required to do a practice run of the downhill section of the course before race start.  Course set up will be at 6:30am sunday, so if you are able to help, let us know!!

GiddyUp!! It’s the last event for 2015 and what better way to see off the year than with a fun team race.  Here is all the info, some you would have heard already and some is new. Saddle up and read on…..

REGISTRATION:  Rego is now open:  Click here to enter Reminder that no on the day entries are accepted so make sure you are entered by 10am Saturday.  Any issues then email timing@ambc.asn.au so we can sort something out.

Racing is open to teams of four only.  If you don’t have a team, no worries, we offer a dating service. Enter as a solo rider and we’ll team you up on the day.  Each team of 4 must contain at least one junior or one female. Teams race in a consistent order (i,e. rider 1, rider 2, rider 3, rider 4, rider 1, so forth) for two hours. Most laps completed “wins”. No prizes for “winners” although we may have some “random” prizes to give away.  Each team will be given a baton and must pass the baton before the next rider is allowed out on course.

Sign on from 8:15am and racing will start at 9:00am.  Each team member will be given a transponder.

LOCATION AND PARKING: The Pony Express this year will be held at the O’Halloran Hill Recreation Reserve.  Gate access is through gate 4 off Majors Rd, west of the MFS fire station.  Parking will be inside the park on the verge of the gravel road, near the start/ finish area, signs will be out on the day. The park ranger has requested “that vehicles will need to park with caution on the road verges and not park on high grass, particularly low ground clearance vehicles, and petrol vehicles….”

OTHER STUFF: If you’ve never been to O’Halloran Hill, it has no amenities.  We will have soft drinks available for purchase but make sure you bring enough water, food, and sun screen to last your team for two hours.  It is a very open area with no shelter so feel free to set up your own awning or sun shelter.
