AMBC Summer XCO Eagle MTB Park // 2019 Calendar

Join us on Sunday the 3rd of Feb for the opening round of the AMBC Summer XC Series, at the ever convenient Eagle Mountain Bike Park for a fast paced XCO race!

Our Summer XC racing series aims to include riders of all levels of skill and fitness to mountain biking, using a shortened course.

In case you missed it, we released our club calendar for 2019 too! These are the dates and locations as arranged thus far, however may be subject to some change.

Eagle XCO! – ONLINE REGISTRATION

Self seeded, ability based categories for XC racing.

START WAVES:
A Grade Men: 6 laps
B Grade Men / A Grade Women: 5 laps
C Grade Men / B Grade Women: 4 Laps
D Grade Men 3 laps / New! C Grade Women: 3 laps
Junior A: 3 Laps
Junior B: 2 Laps

(*All Junior races to be cancelled if forecast for 34deg or over)

State XCO Champs – Update

We have finalised a number of details for the upcoming State Champs!

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN: https://online.mtba.asn.au/ERegister.aspx?E=6024 (Entry closes 3pm Saturday 3rd November)

PRESENTATIONS: Our annual AGM and State Champs presentations will be held at Anderson Hill winery, within walking distance of the start/finish and Fox Creek trails carpark.  PLEASE BE AWARE THAT we will not be beginning the presentations until the site is packed up, so we are asking for all hands on deck.

Anderson Hill have kindly donated $10 gift vouchers for all AMBC State Champs entrants and volunteers, and are putting on an express menu with chips and burgers in addition to their winery menu. Please show your support and get behind this wonderful family owned business!

Committee positions will be open at the AGM and we are still looking for a race director – so please get on board!

COURSE: The course will use the same trails as last year, however is subject to slight adjustments based on trail conditions, see map below. GPX data will be released shortly. Lap counts are subject to further testing however an indicative lap count can be found http://ambc.asn.au/event-info/state-championship-race/.

School Sport SA MTB Champs

AMBC has proudly supported the SSSA Schools MtB Champs for the last 20 years and 2018 has seen huge growth of junior mountain biking here in SA. This year’s schools champs are set to be a blast with the return to the flowy trails of Shepherds Hill RP. Details are as follows :

Thursday 25th October 2018
Shepherds Hill Recreation Park

Suitable for all high school students, and primary years 6-7.

9.30 am – Individual Champs

11.15 am – Relay Teams Event
Teams of 2-4 riders over 2.5 hours

SA XCO State Championships – 4th November 2018, Fox Creek SA

An exciting finish to the 2018 SA racing calendar is set for the 4th of November at Fox Creek, where AMBC is hosting the South Australian State XCO Championships. The State is a stand alone event that determines who is entitled to call themselves the champion of South Australian XCO mountain biking. The title is recognized at MTBA national level events and is an important stepping stone for riders, both established and aspiring, wishing to race at the national level. CATEGORIES
For this race AMBC reverts to Mountain Bike Australia age classification categories. Age categories are calculated based on age on 31st December.
Lap numbers will be assigned to categories at a later date, and is subject to change where necessary.
To assist with this we will be issuing ALL competitors with a fresh, race specific plate. If you are currently in possession of a race plate, please bring it along as we will also be conducting a plate muster.
 
LOCATION
The race is being held at Fox Creek, adjacent to the Croft Rd triangle. The course will utilise Fox Creek’s XC trail network, including the pine forest, outcrops and Thomas Hill loops. A course map will be posted at a later date.
 
PARKING
Parking will be directed on race day. Entrants will be notified prior to the event.

** Suggested laps per grade based on a 15 minute Elite lap time. This is a guide only and the number of laps is variable due to different venues and different track conditions.

$30- all senior riders
$20- all junior riders
