VOLUNTEERS – The club races wouldn’t be possible without our fabulous volunteers that help out.  If you are able to help out this sunday or your cheer squad is able to help out then please contact Robyn on racevolunteers@ambc.asn.au .  We always need help with such things as race set up, race pack up, sign on, and bbq duties.  All volunteers receive a free race entry and sausage.

MEMBERSHIP – If your membership has expired or you’re not a member then now is a great time to renew and avoid paying a $25 day license. Racing as a club member works out cheaper if you plan on racing all the club events and your membership will also allow you to race at a discounted cost at other mtba affiliated events (GESA, Inside Line, PACC Cyclocross).   Click here to find out more about membership or to join/renew.  If you’re not 100% convinced that racing is for you then you can still race at member prices by taking out MTBA’s 2-month free trial membership offer click here.

LOCATION – Make sure you rock up to Shepherds Hill Reserve this sunday morning.  Entry is off of Ayliffes Rd, St Mary’s.  The gates will be open on race day so drive in and follow the main fireroad to the parking area.  For details on the park and how to get there click here.

COURSE MAP – From the start/finish the lap heads up behind the houses along slinky toy marking the beginning of the grey box loop.  Down the grey box dh to then turn sharply and up diagonal climb.  The downhill fun begins again heading down DH3 on to viaduct track for a cruise back to the start/finish. The loop is approximately 5km and should take about 16 minutes for A grade men.  Dave our race director with his crew of set up vollies will be setting up the course on saturday so be sure to say hi to them.

Good luck at the National Champs

PhotoGrid

The Adelaide Mountain Bike Club through its junior development has been able to assist several junior riders to compete at the Australian National Mountain Bike championships this weekend.  The funding for the junior development is due to the generous support of Bio-Mechanics and Cycle Repairs, one of our amazing club sponsors (thanks Pete, Lia and staff!).

The national champs are being held in North East Victoria at Bright, with all mountain disciplines being decided.  We have comptitors in Junior Men (U19), U17 and U15 mens classes in the XCO format.

We wish our juniors and other club riders in competition over the weekend the best of luck.

MTBA Junior Dev Camp: Adelaide

MTBA-AMBC-BMCR-junior-dev-logo

MTBA will be hosting a Junior Development Camp in Adelaide on the 24-26 April 2015. The course is to be held at Fox Creek trails, staying over night at the Thomas Hill house. The cost includes accommodation for Fri and Sat night and meals for the duration as well.

The camp is aimed at under 15 and under 17 riders to help them develop the skills and knowledge that will assist them in MTBing and racing – however the session is for all levels of MTBers.

More information and links to registration are available on the MTBA website.

This course is also the first opportunity for those who attended the NCAS Lvl 1 course to complete their qualifications. For more information regarding this, email sport@mtba.asn.au

AMBC is proud to announce that it will support any current Adelaide Mountain Bike Club junior rider attending this course with a contribution of $100 towards course costs. This subsidy is a direct result of BioMechnics Cycles and Repair cash sponsorship to the club. Please contact treasurer@ambc.asn.au for information regarding reimbursement.
